I remember as a teenager going to the ice rink in my hometown. I would go every chance I got and as I skated I would listen to my disc-man (yeah, those are ancient-it was the 90′s….ipod’s didn’t exist yet!). It was just me, the ice, and the crisp, night air. One of my favorite songs then was a song by Joni Mitchell called “River.” It still is a personal favorite; however, the version I always listened to was by the Indigo Girls.
I’ve felt many times in the last few months like I wish I had a river to skate away on. This is sure to be a winter I will not soon forget as our luck since the snow fell has been terrible, unbelievable really. But my family is healthy, my children lighten my days with the crazy stuff they come up with to say, and we have each other….what more could I ask for? So….the moral of this post is….no matter what terrible things may come and darken your days, there is always sunshine that will eventually come your way, in one form or another; you just have to look around and see it. Since I have kind of a before (all gloomy, reminder of cold days to come) and after (sunny days ahead) images that seem more than fitting for this post…here they are…..
