My Life Monday {thankful}
Filed under: My Life Monday by admin
Happy Monday! I really used to not like Monday’s very much but I really do look forward to my “My Life Monday” posts. If you look forward to my Monday posts as well, leave me some blog love
Also, I love easy recipes so please share in the comments section if it’s quick & uses ingredients usually in the cupboard!
In today’s post I want to share a write-up I came across a while back and I’ve held onto it because well, sometimes in life, we just need a little reminder. Here it goes….
Ironic Reasons to be Thankful
“I am thankful-
- for the teenager who is not doing dishes but is watching tv, because that means he is at home and not on the streets.
- for the taxes that I pay, because it means that I am employed.
- for the mess to clean after a party, because it menas I have been surrounded by friends.
- for my shadow that watches me work, because it means I am out in the sunshine.
- for a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing, because it means I have a home.
- for all the complaining I hear about the government, because it means that we have freedom of speech.
- for the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot, because it means I am capable of walking.
- for my huge heating bill, because it means I am warm.
- for the lady behind me in church who sings off key, because it means that I can hear.
- for the pile of laundry and ironing, because it means I have clothes to wear.
- for the clothes that fit a bit too snug, because it means I have enough to eat.
- for the alarm that goes off in the morning hours, because it means that I am alive.”
If you’re still reading this, I’m thankful.
What are you thankful for?
I used to receive The Bismarck Tribune and I loved my daily paper and cup of coffee in the morning; however, we haven’t renewed our subscription yet. Anyway, I miss reading every other Wednesday’s paper for an article by Julie Fedorchak. Her article’s do; however, appear online. Yay! I just subscribed! Her articles are pretty clever, and being a mom herself, she can relate to a pretty large audience. If you haven’t read any of her articles, take a peek.
If you haven’t heard about BisManCoupons.com , it’s worth a look. There are many businesses that advertise with a special coupon.
Wanna know if the fruit you’re purchasing is really organic? Look at the PLU code on the sticker of the packaging. If it starts with a “9,” it’s organic. If not, it may have been treated with pesticides. I’m not jumping on the organic bandwagon yet but I don’t doubt they’re probably better for you. I guess nowadays, a person should only eat what they grow {or butcher} themselves. Then you KNOW where it came from & what was put on it!
Well….I’ll close for this week. But not until I share this cutie patootie with all her chompers. She had the 4 main teeth and recently busted out 3 more; she’s getting there. Hard to believe though she’s already almost 15 months! Sheesh! Where does the time go? Thank goodness for some warmer weather though……finally! I think this next winter I’m getting one of those SADD winter lamps. Amazing how sunshine can lift a mood:)
