Cassie & Darel Sneak Peek | SD Engagement Photographer
Filed under: Business News, Engagements, Featured Content, Sneak Peeks by admin
I’m alive!!! I’m sure that’s what my family and friends are wondering! I’ve been cooped up in my dungeon I call an office with my flickering, terrible fleorescent lights and brisk chill for the past several days. I think I’ve FINALLY gotten the swing of LR3 {Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3, technically speaking}. I just finally decided that I needed to make use of this program I spent money on rather than have it collect cyber dust. It’s absolutely the cat’s meow! I had purchased a Scott Kelby {well known photographer and photoshop guru guy} book and so glad I did. When I tried to tackle it on my own, I usually ended up giving up within 10 minutes. If you’re a photographer who just so happens to be reading this {I doubt it, but you never know}, get it-NOW, you won’t regret it!
Aside from learning this program using the images from the engagement session of the wonderful couple Cassie & Darel, I’ve been trying to get my shopping cart updated and up to snuff. The keyword there is “trying.” It’s really not going all that well but I am told by “my people” that a solution is possible. I hope that is true. I really wouldn’t want to have to take away the print & product credit that will come along with collections in my pricing structure. The company is suppose to be coming out with a complete overhaul but have not given a release date yet. I’m growing impatient but all the while their customer service has been great, so can’t complain there. I just hope it’s as great as they say it is.
ANYWAY…onto the images already!!! These two were bound and determined to have this session rain or shine. Thankfully though the rain stayed at bay. I actually was prepared for rain and wouldn’t have been completely disappointed but it would’ve been REALLY cold then, so that wouldn’t have been good. The only real issue was the wind but we managed our way around that too with the awesome locations we went to. I LOVE new locations! Darel took the time too to carve in a tree before their session. The ladies reading are going ”awwwww…how sweet.” It totally is though.
I hadn’t chosen to post that image, but I’m hoping to take the wedding party back to that {awesome} location to get an image of Darel & Cassie in their “I Do” attire next to it. Hopefully that works out and I’ll post it then.
Check out that tree….isn’t it awesome?! I just really had a lot of fun with these two love birds and the different locations! If you, as a client, want to win my heart…just take me to a location that’s just so unique and cool and I’m……one very happy photographer!
I hope you enjoy the images Cassie & Darel and I so look forward to September! I also can’t wait to see all those trees dressed in their Fall best!
Another sneak peek will come early next week….can you say Harley???? This weekend I’m shooting a wedding in Bismarck and I’m well aware {and so is the bride} that there is a 70% chance of rain. What do you do but make the most of it? So…I did what any photographer would do…told the bride to bring her umbrella!
I actually shot their engagement session a little outdoors this past winter and I thought it would be cool to have a red umbrella to contrast with the snow. Click HERE to see that blog post, which seems like forever ago! I hope I get the shot I’m envisioning in my mind but we can’t have a drizzle…it needs to be a nice, good rain. Now what photographer says that???? Me, I guess!! lol! I work with what God gives me, what can I say?
I want to mention too, there is an amazing event taking place in Bismarck this Saturday; The Volkowitsch Open in honor of Missy {Meidinger} Balkowitsch. She recently lost her battle to breast cancer that had spread. I had grown up next door to Missy and her family and my heart goes out to them. FYI- Volkowitsch Open is a charity golf event to support Breast Cancer. ALL Proceeds go towards the BCRF (Breast Cancer Research Foundation) & The Bismarck Cancer Center Fountation to help one day find a cure!! I donated a gift certificate for the event; however, my prize doesn’t compare to the thousands in prizes being given away! If you have nothing else to do, don’t mind a little rain, go out and support this great event! I hope I live to see the day when there is a cure. For more information, check out their Facebook page.
Have a great weekend everyone! See you back here Monday!!
